Who We Are

What We Provide

We provide services that support the whole person—helping seniors stay healthy, connected, and independent. Many of those we serve are veterans, and in Texas alone, there are more than 1.5 million who have served our country. Today, the majority of veterans are over age 50, with nearly half age 65 or older. Our mission is to ensure every senior—especially those who have served—has access to the care, resources, and connections needed to live with dignity and purpose.

  • Bridging the Gap in Senior Healthcare

We connect seniors to essential healthcare services, including telehealth with licensed professionals. Access to convenient, reliable care is especially important for veterans, who experience higher rates of chronic conditions and functional limitations than their civilian peers. In Texas, about 29% of veterans report a disability, compared to roughly 13% of nonveterans—making accessible care not just helpful, but essential. Our services help seniors manage chronic conditions, seek medical guidance, and receive support without leaving home.

  • Fostering Connection, Combating Isolation

Social connection plays a critical role in overall health and well-being. Research shows that social isolation is linked to increased risks of chronic illness, depression, and even premature death. Through both virtual and in-person programs, we create opportunities for meaningful connection—helping seniors build relationships, stay engaged, and reduce feelings of loneliness.

  • Empowering Seniors with Knowledge and Resources

Navigating benefits and community resources can be overwhelming. Many seniors are eligible for programs and services but don’t access them due to lack of awareness or support. HST provides personalized guidance to help seniors understand their options, connect to available resources, and make informed decisions with confidence.
