Who We Are

What We Provide

We provide a range of services designed to address the holistic needs of seniors. Among them are many veterans, Texans who served and now make up a significant portion of the aging population. In fact, Texas is home to over 1.5 million veterans, nearly 68% of whom are age 55 or older, facing higher rates of chronic illness and disability than their civilian peers. Our goal is to ensure that every senior, including those with military backgrounds, has access to healthcare, support, and meaningful connections that empower them to live independently and with purpose.

  • Bridging the Gap in Senior Healthcare

We connect seniors with vital healthcare resources, including telehealth consultations with licensed professionals. For those who have served, this access is even more critical: 28% of Texas veterans live with a disability, twice the rate of nonveterans, making convenient, reliable care a necessity. Through our platform, participants can manage chronic conditions, seek medical advice, and access emergency support without leaving home.

  • Helping Seniors Stay Mobile and Independent

Transportation is a critical need for seniors, and even more so for older veterans with mobility challenges. Lack of reliable transportation remains one of the top barriers to care, often resulting in missed medical appointments and reduced independence. Our service provides dependable rides for essential errands, medical visits, and grocery trips, keeping seniors connected to their communities and their health.

  • Fostering Connection, Combating Isolation

We understand the importance of emotional and social well-being. Research shows that social isolation can increase health risks by as much as 50%, and aging veterans are particularly vulnerable due to post-service transitions and mobility challenges. Through both virtual and in-person interactions, our companionship programs offer seniors and elderly veterans meaningful connections, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation.

  • Empowering Seniors with Knowledge and Resources

Navigating the complexities of benefits and community resources can be overwhelming. Many senior veterans are eligible for programs and services but lack access to the right information, resulting in millions of dollars in unclaimed benefits each year. HST offers personalized guidance to help seniors understand their options, apply for programs, and feel empowered to make informed decisions.
